SUV-coupébroertje van Volkswagen ID.4
Volkswagen’s eerste elektrische SUV-coupé heeft de stijl van een coupé en de praktische mogelijkheden van een SUV met volledig elektrische vierwielaandrijving en twee elektromotoren, aldus de fabrikant. Feitelijk is het een Volkswagen ID.4 met coupédak. Hij beleeft op 7 september zijn internationale showdebuut als productierijpe, licht gecamoufleerde concept car op de IAA in München.
Vanaf 2022 bij de dealers
De Volkswagen ID.5 GTX staat vanaf 2022 bij de dealer en gaat de Accelerate-strategie van Volkswagen een extra impuls geven. De onderneming wil het meest populaire merk worden op het gebied van duurzame mobiliteit en beoogt het aandeel volledig elektrische auto’s in Europa tegen 2030 te vergroten tot 70 procent van de totale Volkswagen-afzet. Volkswagen streeft ernaar om tegen 2050 netto CO2-neutraal te zijn.
ID-modellen
Inmiddels heeft Volkswagen al diverse ID-modellen in het gamma, denk maar aan de ID.3 en de ID.4. Daar komen nog diverse modellen bij, waaronder een ID.Buzz.
Twee elektromotoren
De aandrijflijn van de Volkswagen ID.5 GTX is gelijk aan die van de ID.4 GTX. In totaal dus 299 pk, bereikt door zowel op de voor- als achteras een krachtige elektromotor te plaatsen. De grote lithium-ionbatterij tussen de assen maakt een bereik tot 497 kilometer mogelijk.
