Jaguar Land Rover gaat geëlektrificeerde modellen in het Britse Castle Bromwich produceren. Vanaf 2020 komt er van elk model een geëlektrificeerde variant op de markt.

Het produceren van auto’s in het Britse Castle Bromwich betekent goed nieuws voor de lokale economie, want dit besluit redt Jaguar Land Rover duizenden banen in het Verenigd Koninkrijk.
Modular Longitudinal Architecture
Nog deze zomer voorziet Jaguar Land Rover Castle Bromwich van nieuwe productietechnologie. “Daarmee bereidt de fabriek zich voor op de productie van het nieuwe MLA-platform (Modular Longitudinal Architecture) dat geschikt is voor zowel benzine- als diesel- en elektrische aandrijving”, aldus Jaguar Land Rover.
Nieuwe generatie Jaguar XJ
De nieuwe generatie Jaguar XJ is het eerste volledig elektrische model dat in Castle Bromwich geproduceerd wordt. In januari 2019 liet Jaguar Land Rover al weten dat het elektrische aandrijflijnen en batterijpakketten in de Midlands-regio gaat produceren. Ook wordt geïnvesteerd in nieuwe en bestaande productiefaciliteiten. In 2020 opent het nieuwe Battery Assembly Centre in Hams Hall met een capaciteit van 150.000 units per jaar. Samen met het Wolverhampton Engine Manufacturing Centre (EMC) is het Battery Assembly Centre verantwoordelijk voor de productie van geëlektrificeerde modellen van Jaguar en Land Rover.
