Jaguar I-Pace is Auto van het Jaar 2019
Elektrische Jaguar gaat er nipt met de prijs vandoor.
De elektrische Jaguar I-Pace heeft de belangrijkste Europese autoprijs van het jaar gewonnen. Hij mag zich ‘Car of the Year 2019’ noemen. Het werd echter geen glansrijke overwinning. De sportauto Alpine A110 scoorde hetzelfde aantal punten.
Rechtstreeks duel
In een rechtstreeks duel met de Alpine A110 won de Jaguar i-Pace nipt en dus ging de eerste volledig elektrische auto van Jaguar met de felbegeerde titel ‘Auto van het Jaar’ naar huis.
Het is de tweede volledig elektrische auto in de historie van de Car of the Year-verkiezing die deze prijs in ontvangst neemt. De jury van de Auto van het Jaar-verkiezing bestaat uit 60 autojournalisten uit 23 landen.
Stevige competitie
De competitie ging er stevig aan toe, waar behalve de Alpine A110 ook de nieuwe Kia Ceed en Ford Focus hoge ogen gooiden.
