“Geen RS-plannen voor Ford Mustang Mach-e”

Ford maakt er een traditie van om van bepaalde modellen supersportieve RS-modellen uit te brengen. Een goed voorbeeld is de Ford Focus RS. Heeft Ford ook plannen voor een RS-uitmonstering van de volledig elektrische Mustang Mach-e? Volgens Darren Palmer, Global Product Development Director bij Ford, is daar geen sprake van.
Geen RS-plannen voor Mustang Mach-e
“Er bestaan bij Ford geen plannen om de RS-naam te gebruiken voor de Ford Mustang Mach-E in de toekomst”, stelt Darren Palmer in gesprek met AutoRAI.nl. “We komen wel met een high performance uitvoering en die heeft de GT-aanduiding. Boven dit model komt geen RS-model, de Mustang Mach-e GT en GT Performance blijven de topversies.”
Performance Edition
Ford heeft al wel een Performance Edition op basis van de Mustang Mach-E GT aangekondigd. Die heeft net als de reguliere GT een systeemvermogen van 480 pk, maar je krijgt wel meer koppel: 860 Nm voor de GT Performance Edition versus 814 Nm voor de reguliere GT. De Ford Mustang Mach-E GT Performance Edition sprint in slechts 3,5 seconden naar 100 km/u, dat is 0,2 seconde sneller dan voorheen. De topsnelheid van de GT is begrensd op 200 km/u.
Kleuren Mustang Mach-e GT
Ford rust de Mustang Mach-E GT uit met adaptieve MagneRide-wielophanging, lichtmetalen 20-inch wielen, rode remklauwen en exclusieve lakkleuren, waaronder Cyber Orange en Grabber Blue. Met zijn accupakket van 88 kWh heeft de Mustang Mach-E GT een actieradius van 500 kilometer (WLTP).
Europa
Het is nog niet duidelijk of de Performance Edition ook naar Europa komt. Zo niet, dan is de GT-variant op Europese bodem de snelste. De nieuwe Ford Mustang Mach-E GT komt eind 2021 naar Europa.
