Maserati’s veel stiller in de toekomst
Opvolgers GranTurismo en GranCabrio worden elektrisch
Alle nieuwe Maserati-modellen worden in de toekomst ontworpen, ontwikkeld en geproduceerd in Italië. Nog veel belangrijker: alle Maserati’s krijgen hybride en batterij-elektrische aandrijfsystemen. Het spits wordt afgebeten door de nieuwe Ghibli, het eerste hybridemodel van Maserati.
Hybride Maserati Ghibli
De hybride Maserati Ghibli komt nog in 2020 op de markt. Maserati’s elektrificatieprogramma start dus nog dit jaar. In 2021 start de productie van de nieuwe Maserati GranTurismo en GranCabrio. Dit worden de eerste modellen van het merk die een 100 procent elektrische aandrijving krijgen.
GranTurismo en GranCabrio
Maserati produceert de nieuwe generatie GranTurismo en GranCabrio in de Mirafiori-fabriek, waarin het merk met de drietand 800 miljoen euro investeert. Een groot deel van de capaciteit van de fabriek wordt toegewezen aan de productie van de nieuwe geëlektrificeerde auto’s van het merk. Van de uitgaande generatie GranTurismo en GranCabrio verkocht Maserati tussen 2007 en 2019 meer dan 40.000 exemplaren.
Supersportauto
Maserati komt in de loop van 2020 ook met een nieuwe supersportauto, vermoedelijk met een krachtige zespitter met turbotechnologie onder de motorkap, al komt er ook een elektrische versie van. De productie van de nu nog naamloze supersport-Maserati vindt plaats in Modena. De productielijn in de fabriek in Modena wordt momenteel verregaand gemoderniseerd, deels om de lijn voor te bereiden op de elektrische variant van dit nieuwe model.
Nog een SUV van Maserati
Maserati komt verder nog met een nieuwe utility vehicle. Die rolt straks in Cassino van de band. Maserati investeert ongeveer 800 miljoen euro in de bouw van een nieuwe productielijn, waarmee aan het einde van het eerste kwartaal van 2020 wordt gestart. De eerste preproductiemodellen rollen naar verwachting in 2021 van de lijn.
