De Hispano Suiza Carmen Boulogne is zestig kilogram lichter dan de reguliere Carmen dankzij geoptimaliseerde wielophanging en diverse koolstofvezel componenten. Hij weegt nu 1.630 kilogram.
Snelle sprinter
De volledige elektrische aandrijflijn kreeg er ten opzichte van de Carmen in totaal 95 pk bij (nu 1.114 pk). Dat resulteert in een topsnelheid van 290 km/u (+40 km/u) en een 0-100-tijd van minder dan 2,6 seconden.
Vijf exemplaren
De elektrische hypercar kost 1,65 miljoen euro, exclusief belastingen. Hispano Suiza produceert slechts vijf exemplaren, bovenop de veertien exemplaren van de reguliere Carmen (zilverkleurige auto op foto’s). De totale oplage van de Carmen komt dus uit op negentien stuks. De levering aan klanten start in 2022.

Het Spaanse Hispano Suiza produceerde tussen 1904 en 1946 meer dan 12.000 luxe personenauto’s en 50.000 vliegtuigmotoren. Al in 1899 experimenteerde het merk met elektrische auto’s. Het bedrijf is nog steeds in handen van de familie Mateu en wordt momenteel geleid door Miguel Suqué Mateu, de achter-kleinzoon van merkoprichter Damián Mateu. Het bedrijf heeft nog steeds zijn kantoor in Barcelona.
